Do I need a structural engineer before structural repairs?

In most cases, yes. Any work involving RSJs, lintels, load-bearing changes, or underpinning requires calculations from a structural engineer. We can help arrange this if needed.

How do I know if my wall needs a new lintel or RSJ?

Signs include cracking above windows/doors, sagging brickwork, doors sticking, or visible movement. We can assess the issue and confirm the best solution.

What are the signs a property may need underpinning?

Cracks wider than 2–3mm, sloping floors, gaps around windows/doors, and sinking ground can indicate subsidence. An inspection will confirm whether underpinning is the right fix.

Can you replace wall ties and repair cracked brickwork?

Yes. We install new wall ties, carry out crack stitching, resin bar installation, and rebuild sections if required.

How long does structural repair work usually take?

Small lintel or steel installations can be completed in a day. Larger structural repairs or underpinning may take several days to a few weeks depending on the severity.
